Early Toddler Mornings
Enn woke up and must have decided that he would make this a day to *explore*. He snapped awake and declared he wanted snack. Are you hungry? I asked- and yes, I'm hungry! he said. He ate/grazed on food from that point- 6:30am- until 8am. Snack after breakfast after snack. Before daddy left to work, Enn was placing himself at one end of the room and hollering "Ready, Set, Go!" and running with all his might, slamming into daddy's legs as he stood in the kitchen. Then, starting from there- "Ready, Set, Go!" and slamming back into the wall. He made several copies on my mom's fax. He had a tantrum over something, and threw his head back onto the coffee table. I helped him as he struggled, he was so upset, and he flung himself back again, knocking me on the chin (btw- "ouch!!!"), and injuring himself again. By 11am, he was exhausted and went down for a nap. Later in the afternoon, he had a tender moment with his baby doll. He fed the baby and put it down for nite-nite, placing the blanket over him. Seconds later, he was pushing the baby off the table, throwing it down, fling! there goes the baby! So much for tenderness! ha ha. Also, he loves washing his hands, so after the 5th washing, he decided to block the water on the faucet with his palm, and sprayed the whole bathroom with water. He also bathed his stuffed animal cookie monster in the sink there, and left him under running water for a while. I don't know if cookie monster will ever dry out, he is soaking sopping wet, seemingly beyond recovery. In the kitchen, he poured a cup of water in the tortilla warmer. Twice he ate yogurt and spread it all over his face and shirt. At dinner, he wouldn't stop mixing his dinner into his drink. After dinner, he spit chewed up bread into his dad's shirt after having showed daddy the food in his mouth.I think a night of sleep will do him good! Also, a bought a slinky for him today. He loves it.
