Not Just a Little Kid
I am starting to get amazed at Enn's maturity... not that he's a small stature adult, but that he's not a baby anymore, not even just a little kid. I know I have often looked ahead too quickly with Enn, forgetting the ways that he is still so very young. But, it's just that I see him having his own thoughts and being able to explain them in a coherent way, and being thoughtful about what's going on around him, and being able to calmly tell me what's on his mind. I get to look at him and be amazed at how he's his own person. I get to see how I am going to respect him as he continues to grow, and I just love him. He is a sweet soul.Another thing is about Christmas. We discussed what he would get several different family members (at the Dollar Store) and he thought for a moment... and then he said he would like to get Abuelita a coffee cup. How sweet he thought through what she often does- drink coffee- and he made that decision all on his own! When we got to the dollar store, he found the coffee cups, then he found one that looked like a garden pot. OMGsh. He knows she loves to garden and he picked that one. Wow! And he also told me he wanted to get me a purse. How did he know I wanted a new purse? I have no idea, but he went with gift shopping with his dad, who showed him several purses. He said No to many choices, but then they got to one where he said- that one. It is a blue wallet type purse that holds the minimum. I have a brown leather one that I have been using that is small & practical like that, but I had recently thought- "this thing is not really my style." Then Enn goes and picks this little purse out, and it's exactly right. How did he know?
