"Up to Now"

Here's another one! What do you think?
About my sweet boy that I love dearly dearly! And I have another on the way, another boy!
Anyway, another poem...

Up to Now

And there is Now
the laughter
the running, jumping
I hold him in my arms,
as he wiggles away,
amazed always by the life he captures.
In a day that holds a lifetime’s worth of discovery,
he finds wonderment
at how the light glows
atop the water as it glistens,
at how the sound of O-h-h-h can linger from his lips,
and m-m-m-m-m and
h-m-m-m-m-m
he can say This now, and That,
and tell me he wants Now, Now
(that throwing down tantrum
so complete, so full)
Just up to there, and the volume!
The purpose, the strength–
But the beauty, no comparison.
I hold him at night,
weight as his head cradles in.
He breathes, then sighs,
a small force finding rest.
