Is there anyone sweeter than your own child on a good day?
My little one carries a special capacity for compassion and kindness, and he surprises me sometimes. Other times….
So! This morning he woke at 3am, crying. I am beginning to suspect it may be his 4th ear infection this season. More on that another time.
Anyway, GK went to him, but Enn wanted me instead. When I walked in, Enn’s little face was expectant, lit up with the nite lite glow. I lay down next to him, and he immediately became calm and put his head on his pillow. I covered him with his blankets, and covered myself too. He started to fall asleep, but not before placing his hand on hand on my face ever so gently. *Sigh*. It was so incredibly sweet!!!
Later in the morning, after having slept longer, Enn woke up at 6:30. GK was up anyway, so he took care of him as he ran around & such. Then Enn came into our room, and he wanted to give me a hug as I lay in bed- so he reached out for me, and he hugged me warmly and said “awwwwww.” My heart melted!
And before I forget, I have to tell of yesterday- and how, when he watched teletubbies, he so loved the little baby on the show. Every time the baby face showed on the screen, he’d run to the baby and give it a kiss. Hi Baby! Bye Baby! He loves babies.
I’m hoping & praying that my boys will be best friends, that they’ll have a bond that’s not all marred by a bossy older brother or a snappy younger brother, that they’ll enjoy each other’s company from the start! I am hoping Enn is so excited to be a big brother, that he won’t worry so much about Baby Zee getting so much more attention at first!
I can dream, right?
